Hi Paul,

We've had a client raise an issue with a module of ours which using the LM client. It was all working fine and then the message below appeared wherever our module was used:

A critical error has occured.
The settings property 'Dotcom_Modules_LicenceMaster_Client_InstallationService_Installation' was not found.

Does this mean anything to you as we are at a loss as to what it could be.

Thanks

Hi Dan,

I presume that you have the module in question installed on various development and test servers, and potentially on other clients' installations as well. Have you been able to reproduce the problem on any of these?

Also, please can you tell me which version of the Dotcom.LicenceMaster.Client.dll assembly you have compiled your module against?

Is there anything unusual about the client's DNN site? What is the default language?

Can you provide me with a stack trace for the error?

Finally, would it be possible to get a copy of the client's web.config (you can remove security sensitive content if you want).

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick response. Yes we have many modules out there with clients all working fine with the licensing module so we were surprised to see this one. We haven't been able to reproduce the error as we're not sure where to start with this one.

The Dotcom.LicenceMaster.Client.dll assembly is currently v1.0.9 which we've compiled against and shipped.

I've requested more info on the DNN installation which is having the problems, i've also asked if they can supply the DNN log entry for the error to give us more info - they had to uninstall our module to get the client site back up and running. I will also ask for the web.config as well.

Thanks

Dan
